In 1976, the family company Heliotronic began as a distributor of technical products for churches and industry.

Since 1991, the company mainly concentrated on producing and distributing liquid wax based products such as liquid wax table lamps for restaurants, bars and hotels, known under the brand name FlexiLight and liquid wax candles for churches, monasteries, ecclesiastical institutions, funeral parlors and cemeteries.

After deciding to focus on candles and table lighting, the company was renamed in 1993 as Heliotron Kerzen GmbH.

In the following years, Heliotron expanded their sales efforts across all of Germany. The company’s external sales staff also travels to parts of Switzerland and Austria.

In October 2002, the HelioDirekt factory outlet was opened on the company’s premises, which for the first time offered a huge variety of candles and decoration accessories to non-corporate customers.

In 2004, the company restructured its hotel and gastronomy product division and established a separate CallCenter for assisting external sales efforts.

With respect to the international markets Heliotron expands into various parts of the world by gaining new reselling partners who are focused on our products to serve our international hospitality clientele. In order to focus on the internationality and the convenience of our products Heliotron began renaming its formerly know Kerzotron® liquid wax product range to the new brand name FlexiLight® in 2007, which stands for the great flexibility and manageability of the table lamp system.

From January 2008, Mr. Marco Perz took over the role as Managing Director of the "Hospitality" business unit and became a shareholder of the company.

For 2008 Heliotron is planning to introduce additional business units as well as generating more growth for the international markets.
